Description

Built and funded through partnership between the MoD and The Royal British Legion, this centre will provide rehabilitation for Service personnel through adaptive sport and adventure training. It forms part of an overall recovery strategy which includes the Personnel Recovery Centre programme (also supported by the Legion) and aims to help seriously injured personnel prepare either for return to Service or, if more appropriate, a transition to Civvy Street. During the last few years, the Legion has introduced new services and extended the reach of existing ones. We spend over £1.2 million a week on our welfare work and as a result, we can help around 100, 000 people each year. People like Lance Corporal Peter Dunning who featured in one of our 2009 Poppy Appeal posters and Gunner Mark Stonelake who featured in the 2010 Poppy Appeal campaign.
